Remembering September 11th
Our land has been fortunate to only have received very few foreign attacks (if you even count Hawaii) which has given us as Americans great sense of security. While Europe, Asia, and the Middle East have experienced years of war, hardship, and turmoil our "isolation" has kept us relatively safe over the decades. That's why on that Tuesday morning in September when we were brutally attacked by radical Islamist terrorists, our sense of security crumbled and our country, with its massive military and advanced intelligence agencies, were basically declared useless. This new enemy has struck before (USS Cole, First World Trade Center Bombing) but this one was different. We saw them use our own symbols of freedom and prosperity against us in their attempt to send the clear message that we were the enemy deemed worthy enough for a fight. We were the Big Satan.
What the liberals in Washington don't understand is this enemy will never go away, because it never has. It's more than a terrorist organization or political ideology. We're fighting a system of beliefs that does not value life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. We fight a people that will never give up or surrender. We fight a people who enjoy destruction and, if I may quote, "just want to watch the world burn." Let us remember what they did and vow to fight on.
